Statistics show that 98% of confrontations can be resolved peacefully when proper verbal and non-verbal communication skills are used.  Despite their best efforts, officers must intervene with physical control and defense skills the other 2% of the time.  It is important that officers receive training in practical, effective and court defensible skills.  Officers who are not properly trained are more likely to react in a way that is contrary to the mission of the organization.  The likelihood of injuries is higher for both the officer and the individual and the agency may be exposed to additional scrutiny and civil liability.

Course Description

The Personal Protection Control & Defense  training program was organized to provide officers with the skills needed to control aggressive individuals and to defend themselves against assaults.  Because complicated techniques are rarely effective, the methods in the Personal Protection Control & Defense  program are based on principles and solid fundamental skills that mesh seamlessly with our other training programs.  Those who are trained in the OCAT® “Oleoresin Capsicum Aerosol Training”, PATH® “Practical and Tactical Handcuffing” or PPBT® “Personal Protection Baton Tactics” programs will recognize that this program is based on the same common sense approach to officer defense training.
